Locke & Key, Vol. 1: Welcome to Lovecraft

Soooo before I even start, I want to let you know that you should probably disregard my review because I dislike horror and I only read this because it was my book club’s pick for April. I know a lot of people love this book and of the 8 of us at book club I was the only one that didn’t like it. I also didn’t rate it on Goodreads because I felt that it wasn’t fair to rate this book so low, when its 100% personal preference why I didn’t like it.

I’m not a huge fan of murder and mystery and horror and child trauma and this book has all of it. I also didn’t really like the art style, but it did seem to fit with the story. The only thing I did like about this book was that it was short (it is a graphic novel) so I didn’t have to do too much reading.

I did try to like it, I really did, but its just not for me. But I’m glad I gave it a chance, if only to say I did it! Next month’s book is His Majesty’s Dragon and I am super excited for that so hopefully I have a better review!!
