June Wrap Up

June

My June was super busy and hectic (in a good way!) so I got very little reading in.  I did slightly better than I did in May, but still less than I would have liked.

Between all the travel and summer plans I not only slacked on reading but I fell behind blogging too.  I did finally get all caught up and I don’t have any big plans in July so hopefully it settles down!

Books I Read:

Currently Reading:

  • Austentatious: The Evolving World of Jane Austen Fans – I am 59% of the way done (NetGalley | Goodreads)

Challenges:

  • 2019 Audiobook Challenge
    • New Books: 1
    • Total: 8/20
  • 2019 Retellings Reading Challenge
    • New Books: 0
    • Total: 3/8

Sooooo I completely spaced writing update posts for my challenges and this point I’m going to bother.

Around the Blogosphere:

Wyrm

Nicole @ Book-Wyrm-Knits has the perfect response for when people ask  “How can you read two books at the same time?” —-> “How can you watch two TV shows at the same time?” (how have I never thought of this before?!?!

Phoenix

Amber @ The Literary Phoenix talks about why Nerd is not an insult and I completely agree!

Fox

Lauren @ Fictional Fox takes us on a desk tour and I am in love with her set up!

Paper

Consu @ Paper Eyed Girl reminds us that it is ok to read only a few books (And I really needed this reminder this month!)

Mom.png

Barbara @ Book Club Mom took a poll of our reading habits and collected all the results and it is super fun to see how everyone reads!

Sammy

My first ever tweet feature Sammy @ SammyReadss comments on how she loves “When [characters] only call each other by their last names until they don’t” and I never thought about it before but I love this too!

July

Currently Reading:

  • Austentatious: The Evolving World of Jane Austen Fans – I am 59% of the way done (NetGalley | Goodreads)

I’m actually really enjoying this but since its non-fiction and not a story there isn’t any plot that is dragging me into it, so it is taking me a while to finish it.

Up Next TBR:

I have so many books I want to read right now and I know I won’t follow any sort of list, so I am not even going to take a guess at what I will read

  1. Thanks for the link! I think I’m going to read (well, listen to) Austen’s Persuasion this month, and I’m really looking forward to that. Need to finish my current audiobook first, though. (That one’s The Three Body Problem, and it’s good but deep and confusing.)

    1. You’re welcome!! Have you read it before? Other than P&P I have only listened to Austen’s other books rather than reading physical copies and I definitely recommend listening to them! I hope you like it!

      1. Persuasion is new to me! I’ve been listening to all of them so far, and while I think I’ll probably enjoy reading the physical copies later, it seems to be working for me to listen to them first. I tried reading one (two?) before listening to it, and I got bored.
