It’s Friday (1)

ItsFriday2

It’s Friday! is a combination of First Lines Friday (created by Wandering Words), First Impression Friday (created by J.W. Martin) and The Friday 56 (created by Freda’s Voice)

The goal is to take the book I am reading and share the first lines and a segment from page 56.  Then I will reveal the book I am reading and let you know what I think so far!

First Lines:

He wakes to the sounds of steel and fire, and the distant wailing of a Saracen woman.  His sword is in his hand before he’s on his feet.

Page 56:

Gurgling, Marian staggered back as Will fell, flailing into the leaves to find his footing.  Lungs still spasming, throat in agony, she felt she might bust trying to utter his name, some clue to tell him in the melee that she was friend, not foe.

Did you know it?

First Impression:

I am currently on page 245 of 467, (52% done) and I am loving it so far.  Marian is feisty and strong and everything I want in a female Robin Hood ❤ I started the book last night and stayed up reading till after 2 am. (sleeping is for the weak!)  I can’t wait to continue reading more tonight! (and probably finishing it)

I’m predicting a 5 out of 5 stars (though I do tend to be biased toward loving Robin Hood retellings)

What are you reading this week? Are you liking it?

  1. I’m so glad you’re enjoying this book!!! Those definitely are some steiking lines. I don’t think I’ve ever read a Robin Hood retelling but I feel like I could love one in theory?? Hopefully I’ll love this one when I read it! 😄

  2. I’m hoping to listen to the audiobook for this one, since I like the narrator who reads it. It seems like a fun book! First I have to finish my current listen though (Jane Austen’s Persuasion).
