I love some of the cleaner simpler designs. The HarperCollins 2013 is nice!

That one is awesome! That was probably my fourth favorite haha

Harper Collins 2012, which was one of your favorites is the one that caught my eye. I am glad you did not pick one that was from the movie.

Haha I am not usually a movie cover person, though I do love Viggo Mortensen so I don’t mind those covers, but they are definitely not my favorites!

I agree totally, I also love Viggo Motensen, but I just can’t go with a movie tie-in cover.

Ballantine Books 1973 ’cause that was the edition I first bought and read when I was 10.

Thats awesome!!! I am always partial to the covers I own 🙂

I love how Mariner 2003 is just a random closeup shot of Viggo Mortenson’s face 😀 And I’d have to go with HarperCollins 2013. It looks so clean and pretty!

Haha right! 😂 It could be worse tho! At least Viggo Mortenson is good looking 😂😂 And I like that one too!

I got to go with my instinct here and admit I prefer the ones with Viggo on the cover 🙂

Haha I definitely don’t mind those ones 😉

Hm. I’m with bookbeachbunny – it’s Viggo alllll the way. Nothing to do with the book design and a LOT to do with the fact that I think he’s gorgeous…

Ooh what a great line up of covers! I like the second and third ones, also the Houghton Mifflin 1988 cover and the Metis Yayinlari ’96 one as well. The Ballantine one is the cover I had when I first read them so that one is partial to me, even if it’s not very distinctive.
The Norstedt and Harper Collins 2008 are nice as well. Even the Ballantine ’84- not exactly how I picture Aragorn lol, but I still like it in that vaguely throwback 80’s fantasy cover way haha!

Haha so basically you like a lot of the covers!! You are the second person who has said they owned the Ballantine edition. I think I own one of the movie tie in covers. Obviously the cover I own didn’t make that great of an impression because I can’t even remember which one I have!
I really liked the Houghton Mifflin 1988 too, but it is kind of subtle and not very eye catching compared to the others. If I wanted a nice collector’s edition I would probably get that one, but for reading and enjoying the cover I like some of the others better!

Wow, I had no idea there were so many covers for this book. I really like the Houghton Mifflin 1988, but I also agree with those who are drawn to the Viggo covers, lol.

I really liked that cover as well! I debated putting it in as one of my favorites, but it is too subtle when looking at a small picture of it and not as eye catching as some of the others

We’re book twins! I chose this but went for the blue collector’s edition. TBH – I was a tad lazy and only checked out the first couple of pages so I didn’t even see your favourite – which is gorgeous.

I really liked the blue collector’s edition one too! It was fourth on my list haha so it barely didn’t make my favorites. I tried to do only the first few pages, but I was so anxious about missing a really good one that I ended up looking through most of them 😂

Oh, I really love that cover for it! It’s simple and yet conveys so much about the story. 🙂
