Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s topic is “Top Ten Extraordinary Book Titles”
As Jana pointed out – This topic is broad and “extraordinary” can be interpreted to mean a bunch of different things. Jana chose to pick titles that were really beautiful and don’t follow the normal title trends in the book world right now. I am going to go with book titles that are slightly ridiculous but still amazing.
Books I’ve Read:
1) Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch
2 & 3) The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue / The Lady’s Guide to Petticoats and Piracy
4 & 5) The Thief Who Pulled on Trouble’s Braids / The Thief Who Spat In Luck’s Good Eye
6 & 7) The Lady Travelers Guide to Scoundrels & Other Gentlemen / The Lady Travelers Guide to Larceny with a Dashing Stranger
8, 9, & 10) The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy / The Restaurant at the End of the Universe / Life, the Universe and Everything
I realized that trying to differentiate my love for the title and my love for the book was almost impossible so I ended up picking fun random titles that all turned out to be really long!
TBR Titles:
1) The Geek’s Guide to Unrequited Love
2) The Fork, the Witch, and the Worm
3) Beasts of Extraordinary Circumstance
4) The Girl the Sea Gave Back
5) Vampires & Vigilantes
6) The Benefits of Being an Octopus
7) Ink
8) American Hippo
9) The Bromance Book Club
10) Just One Damned Thing After Another
Ink may seem like it doesn’t fit in with the rest of the titles, but it is talking about both tattoos and books so I think its brilliant!
Ooh these are all such great titles! I love titles that have “The _____’s Guide to ____” so it’s great that you have so many of those on this list 😀

Haha I didn’t even notice that there were 6 books that followed that format 😂 I must really like it too! (that and my blog blurb is “A Pride and Prejudice Lovers Guide to Other Books” 😂 😂

I love your take on the prompt! Douglas Adams has some of my favorite ridiculous titles. I’ve always really liked The Gentleman’s Guide and The Lady’s Guide, too. I’ve read Just One Damned Thing After Another, and it’s really funny (though the lack of a coherent plot annoys me about the series). The titles are some of the best, though.
Here’s my TTT post.

Yes! It’s an ongoing series, actually. I think there’s, like, 9 books and … a smattering of novellas? I lost count. xD

The Thief does not sound like someone who makes good choices 🙂 But the titles are certainly intriguing!

These are some neat titles, and I especially love how you blended styles! Also, you have a lot of “Guide” titles in here! I hadn’t realized that there were so many.
