This weeks topic is:
Top 5 Favorite Audiobooks
- What If? by Randall Munroe, narrated by Wil Wheaton
- Second Hand Curses by Drew Hayes, narrated by Scott Aiello, Marc Vietor, and Tavia Gilbert
- Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling, narrated by Jim Dale
- Ready Player One by Ernest Cline, narrated by Wil Wheaton
- The Fire’s Stone by Tanya Huff, narrated by Bill Hensel
Wil Wheaton and Jim Dale are amazing narrators and I could listen to them all day! Second Hand Curses was written to be an audiobook and its brilliant. The Fire’s Stone is just an awesome story that I just happened to listen to on Audiobook.
I really want to reread Harry Potter on audio!
Ready player one was a good audio book, didn’t make it to my list though 😦

Jim Dale is an awesome Narrator and it makes for a great re-read!! Ready Player One was one of the first books I listened to on Audio so I think it has a special space in my brain 😂

For me too! I think it was my first or second audiobook! So another reason for good memories haha!

I listened to What If? on audio, and I agree that it was awesome! I’ve also heard Wil Wheaton narrate Scalzi’s Redshirts, and that was also fun. And I agree about Jim Dale! In addition to the Harry Potter series, I listened to him narrate The Night Circus, and it seemed a perfect fit.
I don’t need to add to your comments about Second Hand Curses at all. That is an awesome audiobook, and I love it. More people need to listen to it so they can love it, too.

Ready Player One was also read by Wil Wheaton and I love him as a narrator! I will have to check out Scalzi’s Redshirts 😀 I listened to Jim Dale narrate The Night Circus too, and while I thought he did a phenomenal job, I got confused by the timeline and probably would have been better off physically reading that one. And Yes! More people need to listen to Second Hand Curses!!!!!

If I ever re-read Ready Player One, I will listen to the audiobook. (Because Wil Wheaton.) I was a bit indifferent toward the book, though, so it’s not a given thing. But he narrates a lot of Scalzi’s work it seems, so I’m planning to listen to more of those. He’s a great sci-fi narrator. 😀 I had the same problem with the Night Circus on audio! I thought it was just me, because no one else seemed to get confused. I did buy a physical copy of it, though, so that when I re-read it hopefully I can keep track of the timeline better.

I am on a mission to get through an audiobook by the end of the year. I’ve been wanting to try audiobooks for ages, but I always get so distracted. Maybe I haven’t found the right title yet and with Will Wheaton narrating Ready Player One I might try that one.

I hope you like whatever book you choose!! When do you try to listen to them? That can be a big influence too. Like I can listen to them while I am driving or coloring, but I can’t listen to them if I have to do anything I need to focus one. (That sounds bad, I do focus on driving, but its a different kind of focus 😂 )

I read Ready Player One before I saw Will Wheaton narrated it and was so bummed! I actually think I might have liked it more.

I’ve only listened to Harry Potter out of these (and this reminds me, I never did get around to #6 and #7 on audio — must fix that ASAP!). Wil Wheaton is a fantastic audiobook narrator — he does a bunch of John Scalzi’s novels, and he makes them so much fun to listen to!

Now that you say that, I think I only listened through Order of the Phoenix 🤦🤦 You are the second to mention Scalzi! I have never heard of him but I need to check him out! Thanks 😀
