It’s Friday (2)

It’s Friday! is a combination of First Lines Friday (created by Wandering Words), First Impression Friday (created by J.W. Martin) and The Friday 56 (created by Freda’s Voice)

The goal is to take the book I am reading and share the first lines and a segment from page 56.  Then I will reveal the book I am reading and let you know what I think so far!

First Lines:

She’d never killed before tonight.

Page 56:

She Stared at him with horror. “What?”

“Do you have a problem with that?” There was something in the king’s gaze that betrayed his otherwise casual manner this afternoon.  Something restrained below the surface.  Cleo’s words of protest died on her lips.

First Impression:

I am currently on page 217 of 412, (53% done)

I’m halfway through the book and I kind of feel like nothing has happened? Though I also feel like we are laying the groundwork for some MAJOR events.  The cogs are definitely turning.  I’m enjoying the book so far, but I feel like I am on the edge of a cliff, and when I fall I don’t know if I will love it or hate it?  Each story line is intriguing though I don’t like where they are heading.  I also have the feeling Ceo is going to be involved in a love hexagon (like a love triangle with 5 people instead of 3) and I am really really really not looking forward to that.

I can’t even guess at what my rating will be after reading this.  There are so many directions it could still go and I have a feeling I’ll either love it or hate it. There won’t be an in-between.

What are you reading this week? Are you liking it?

  1. I’m 32% of the way through The Princess and the Fangirl and am enjoying it so far! I don’t know if I’ll end up liking it as much as (or more than) Geekerella, but it’s a really fun sequel! I love that it follows a different set of characters, but that we get cameo appearances from some of the people we knew and loved from the first book.
