This weeks theme: A cover featuring Pirates.
My Choice: Daughter of the Pirate King
I’m super excited for this topic! I love pirates 😀 And I know where the topic quote came from! (I almost never recognize the quote)
Covers:
Feiwel & Friends ARC | Feiwel & Friends 2017 | Book Club 2018 (Russian) | Filia 2019 (Polish)
Least Favorite:
I love the ships and the title, but the girl doesn’t look anything like I pictured Alosa to look like, so it ruins the whole cover.
Favorites:
This is going to be a super tough decision! I love the cover on the left because it is the edition I own and got signed by Tricia Levenseller at Denver Comic Con, but the one on the right is so pretty!
Winner:
As much as it pains me not to pick the original cover, this one is just to pretty! I love it.
I love the Polish cover! Great choice, and this is a book I keep hearing great things about:-)

This is a book I keep meaning to get around to reading as I love sea adventures. And yes – i completely agree with your choice – what a fantastic cover! As for the girl on your least favourite selection – am I the only one who looked at it and wondered why she had ships for legs?

Oooh I hope you love it if you get around to it ❤ Its a great book!
And I didn't see that originally but now that you pointed it out I can't unsee it 😂😂 She totally has ships for legs!

So glad it wasn’t just me who saw it, then:)).

I do love that Polish cover with the hidden details in the colors. I also liked the Russian cover, probably because I didn’t read this book so have no idea what I would picture her to look like. I would rather have seen a drawing than a model that looks so polished though.

I love hidden details in covers! And I agree it would look better with a drawing than a model.

What a fun cover to compare! I agree with you on least favorite. There’s something about the girl that doesn’t fit with the story idea. I kind of like the first cover. A little less blood than on the second one! Your winner is very pretty!

I’m glad I am not the only one who thought that! And I liked the second cover more than the first because of the blood 😂 I thought the first cover was too plain and didn’t have enough detail

Haha – not a big fan of blood! 🙂

Oh I know where that quote is from too! XD
I love pirates too, I’m writing my own book with them in it right now. 😛
I also really loved the DOTPK duology. I just finished DOTSQ the other day! It’s so cool that you have a personalized message in it! O.O

Gotta go with your choice too, though I sort of love the smug expression on the character on the Russian edition, even if that one is my least favorite too 😀

Haha ok, I’ll agree she does have a great expression 😂 But I’m glad I am not the only one who doesn’t love that cover as a whole 😂
