Petition Demands Netflix Cancel Good Omens (But Good Omens is an Amazon Show!)

Normally I hate click-bait on Facebook (mostly because I always get suckered in and yet am rarely satisfied with the article) but occasionally there are some gems.  Take this article for example:

Of course I had to read the article from The Independent. Then, because I hadn’t heard of the Independent (its a UK based site) I had to try and validate that this glorious mistake was a real thing. (It is!)

USA Today, C Net, Business Insider, and The Guardian all posted about it as well.  The Guardian also included a link to The Petition, but it seems to have been taken down.

Luckily for us, Twitter has pictures!!

Neil Gaiman responded accordingly:

Even Netflix got in on the fun!

But my favorite tweets came from the fans:

If you missed my reviews on the movie or the book you may not realize how obsessed I am with Good Omens right now ❤ This completely made my day! It makes me so happy that the petition backfired spectacularly! I’d like to think Crowley had something to do with this!

  1. Always love it when people against a show or book wind up inadvertently doing the marketing for the product! Though in their tiny defense Netflix usually does have the good stuff these days. Loved the guy that said if they don’t cancel he’s going to boycott HBO 🙂

    1. Exactly!! Its Karma 😀 Haha and if anyone made that mistake on a small scale I would probably just laugh at them for a sec and move on, but if you are going to create a petition you really should get your basic facts right 😂 😂 That was my favorite tweet! Followed closely by the guy who checked Netflix and confirmed there wasn’t anything Good Omens related 😂 😂

      1. I will get to them both… eventually! Mr. Wyrm and I are both fans of both Pratchett and Gaiman, so the show is a no-brainer. Just need to make the time.

  2. I’m loving this show BUT I do have to say I found the Crucifixion scene a little too much. AND I’m not a religious person so I can only imagine how it may have disturbed other people! Great post Brit!
