May Wrap Up

May

May has been a weird month for me.  I didn’t read a single full length book, but I did manage to watch all 8 seasons of GOT! It was also Wyrd & Wonder so that was a lot of fun! (you can see my wrap up post for that here)

Books I read:

Challenges:

  • 2019 Audiobook Challenge
    • New Books: 0
    • Total: 7/20
  • 2019 Retellings Reading Challenge
    • New Books: 0
    • Total: 3/8

Around the Blogosphere:

Last month I only featured two posts, so to make up for it, I have ten this month!!

Black

Leslie @ Books are the New Black had her baby!!!! Everything went well and Mom and Baby are both happy and healthy ❤ Baby Oliver was born May 15th (I think) weighing 6lbs. 9oz and was 20in. long.

Metaphors

Kristen @ Metaphors and Moonlight talks about different types of retellings, and asks which ones you like best.

Jenn

Jenn @ Jenniely shares some tips and tricks on the best ways to request ARCs from publishers.

Pheonix

Amber @ The Literary Phoenix introduces us to three underused magical creatures with a lot of potential (Phoenixes, Gorgons, & Selkies – Oh My!)

Writer

Dani @ Perspective of a Writer shares 5 ways to start easy with bookstagram!

WTF

Lisa @ Way Too Fantasy wrote a rambling essay on why she loves Fantasy.

Weird

Margaret @ Weird Zeal rated cover changes (and we all know how much I love comparing different covers!)

Geek PlaceCameron

Cameron @ Cameron Writes wrote a guest post for Lisa @ Dear Geek Place where he talked about his favorite fantasy tropes.  He listed “The Grizzled Old Badass (probably dragged out of retirement)” as a trope, and I love it, and it is now my second favorite trope (right behind enemies to lovers)

ZeZee

Zezee @ Zezee with Books listed her top 5 favorite magical creatures, and her list included cats, which I totally agree with!

Beware

Sophie @ Beware of the Reader tries to predict your favorite genre based on your job! Its a super fun post, and you can tell she put a TON of work into it.

Currently Reading:

My goal was to read this last month and have it completed by the time the TV show was released, but I failed miserably, but I should be able to read it this month!

Up Next TBR

I received a copy of this from NetGalley, so I need to actually get to it sooner rather than later!

I am not going to do a tentative TBR this month, because I haven’t read any books from it in the last two months, so I am not even going to bother!

What was your favorite read from last month? What books are you looking forward to this month? Lets Chat!

  2. Thanks for linking to my post! 😀 And wow, I’m impressed that you watched all of the GoT seasons this month, even if it did mean less reading.

I love Nimona!! And I hope you continue to enjoy Good Omens – I watched all of the TV show in one day and LOVED IT! 😀

  4. I have Nimona out of the library, so now I just need to read it! LOL And I decided there was no way I would finish reading Good Omens before the show started, so I’m probably going to wait until we’ve finished watching all the episodes to start reading the book.

      1. Um… I still have it out of the library… 😉 I renewed it, but it’s due mid-July so I should be able to tell you what I think in a couple of weeks.
