I made a thing!

Guys! Guys! Look! I made a T-Shirt Bag ❤

It even has 4 pockets in the inside!!!!

I’m super proud of it so I wanted to show it off!!

If you are interested in making a bag of your own, check out Chi Chi Dee Handmade‘s tutorial! She has great instructions that are super easy to follow!

The main thing I did differently from her tutorial was that I added fusible backing to my t-shirts before I cut them into shape.  T-shirts tend to roll and are super hard to cut in a straight line because they stretch and move, so if you are using old t-shirts I highly recommend applying the fusible backing and then cutting afterword. It will make it much easier!

The other thing I did differently was that I put pockets on the inside instead of the outside, and I made my pockets a little differently, but, as you can see, they are a bit lopsided, so I would suggest following her instructions on pockets.

My original plan was take lots of pictures and document my step-by-step progress, but I kept forgetting to take pictures. I started out strong and even documented opening and setting up my sewing machine for the first time (it was a Christmas present!) but after that I got a bit sporadic.

I’ve never actually been to Halloween ComicFest, but my Dad and my Uncle got a bunch of t-shirts free with one of their comic buys and I really really liked the design on the black shirt so they gave it to me.  The problem was that the shirts were 3XL, so I couldn’t wear them, but I thought they would make a cool tote.

It took me 5 hours from start to finish (including about an hour figuring out how to set up my sewing machine) but it was worth it! I am super happy with how it turned out!

    1. Thanks!! 💖 It would be the perfect bag for that but I am too old to go trick or treating 😂 So instead I will be an adult and use it all year round because Halloween never ends 😂😂

    1. Thanks 💗 I used to have to borrow my Aunt’s sewing machine, but my Grandma got me this one for Christmas! They make some reasonably priced ones now, so hopefully you can get one some day? What would you make with a sewing machine? Do you have any specific projects you would do?

  1. That’s lovely! Great job 🙂 I have a lot of old shirts lying around for my plans of one day making a T-shirt quilt (no idea when that will ever happen, lol). I’ve also used canvas stretchers to make a couple of my favorite designs into wall art.

    1. Thanks 😀 I have two t-shirt quilts, one from High School shirts and one from College shirts! So I totally love the ID of T-Shirt Quilts. These shirts had no sentimental value, I just liked the design 😀 I like that idea of using canvas stretchers! There are so many cool things to do with tshirts 😀

    1. Thanks 😊😊 I have weird knacks for certain things and other things I can’t do to save my life. Fixing things around the house and anything to do with cars, I am all thumbs too haha. Thats awesome though that you have friends that you can call to help you ❤
