One doesn’t simply grieve the loss of a relationship. One grieves the loss of the possible future, as well as the wiping-out of the past.

~ Katerina Stoykova-Klemer

As some of you know, my fiance and I broke up in September after 5 years together.  Most of the time I am fine, but its hard right now with it being the holidays and everything.  This quote hit super close to home, especially right now when I am still having low points.

Lyric 1:

I wish you were a better man
I wonder what we would’ve become
If you were a better man
We might still be in love
If you were a better man

This song helped me so much, especially at the beginning.  It helped me stay strong and do what I know needed to be done.  It let me know that its okay to be sad because he wasn’t a better man.

Lyric 2:

But I miss me more
I miss my own beat, to my own snare drum
(I miss me more)
Miss my own sheets in the bed I made up
I forgot I had dreams, I forgot I had wings
Forgot who I was before I ever kissed you
Yeah, I thought I’d miss you
But I miss me more (I miss me more)

I love this song too.  And it is also helping me.   This one helps me find the positives and rejoice in the fact that I get to be me, and I lost sight of that at times

I know this is sort of a depressing theme today, but I’m sitting here home alone and a bunch of sappy songs came on and I started thinking about stuff, so its on my mind.  But don’t worry about me ❤ I have an amazing family and they love me so much, and I love them more then they could ever know.  I have low points, but they are happening less often and I am recovering!

I’m not going to tag anyone today because, honestly, I’m not in the mood haha.  But if there is a quote or a lyric that has helped you through a tough time then you should share it ❤

  1. I absolutely loved this tag! The songs are so beautiful. Remember to take care of yourself. This is the perfect time to work on things you’ve been meaning to. Miss Me More is kind of what I always worry about whenever I finally get into a relationship. I like being by myself and doing my own thing. I don’t want to ever tell a guy what to do and I don’t want him to do the same to me. Same thing with motherhood in the future.

    1. Thank you ❤ And I am working on it! I have a really bad habit of jumping to far into things and letting them take me over. I can be really impressionable. but I am enjoying just being myself ❤ And I know there are plenty of great guys out there that will be your perfect balance of freedom and relationship! And I like that you don't want to tell him what to do either, so there is no double standard there!

  2. Hope you feel better soon, I get sometimes into dark places and talking about it with my loved ones helps me. Take care, I’m glad you have your loving family nearby. ❤️❤️❤️

  3. This is a great tag! All lovely songs I think it’s neat that you’re tacking all the tags like this. Sorry you’re a little down. I get like that, especially this time of year. Take care, friend! ❤💚❤
