Friday Face-Off

Friday Face-Off: Creeping Vines

This is a weekly meme created by Books by Proxy, but kept up by Lynn’s Book Blog.

“Clinging and invasive.

This weeks theme: A cover featuring creeping vines.

My Choice: Uprooted

Covers:

Del Rey 2015 | Macmillan 2015 | Macmillan 2016 | Planeta 2016
cbj 2016 | Nemira 2017 | Gabo 2016 | Algoritam 2016
Книжковий Клуб 2017 | Tänapäev 2016 | Mladinska knjiga 2017 | נובה 2016
노블마인 2017 | 天地出版社 2017 |  静山社 2016 | 静山社 2016

This was the easiest theme in a while but I still had trouble picking a book! Not because I couldn’t find one, but because I found a couple good ones and I didn’t want to have to choose!  Some of my other options were Inkdeath, Princess Bride, and Princess Academy.

Least Favorite Covers:

Favorite Covers:

I own the left cover and love it.  It has that fairy tale vibe, and incorporates a lot of the aspects of the story. I also love the way the right cover looks but it is a little too Hansel and Gretel ish for me.

  1. Oh yeah! These are gorgeous! My least favorite are the two with real photos instead of the artwork, cbj 2016 & Algoritam 2016. My favorites are Mladinska knjiga 2017, Del Rey 2015 & 天地出版社 2017. Great choice!

    1. Algoritam 2016 is by far my least favorite! I wasn’t a huge fan of Mladinska knjiga 2017 and 天地出版社 2017 is just a close up version of Del Rey 2015. I love the font on Del Rey 2015 so that is why I like it better than 天地出版社 2017 but I guess you can’t really translate that font into Chinese(?). 😀

  2. There’s a pretty good choice of options for this one but I have to agree with you in the end! Though I do like the one that looks like a classic fairy tales. I have a Grims edition that kind of looks like that one actually 🙂

  3. This is such a cool post! It’s so fun to see how different covers are in different countries, you’d never guess it was the same book. My favorites cover is the Macmillan one, cause I love the color scheme. But I think your favorite fits the story best!
