This is a weekly meme created by Books by Proxy, but up-kept by Lynn’s Book Blog.
“It was the possibility of darkness that made the day seem so bright.”
This weeks theme: A cover featuring the night
My Choice: Where the Red Fern Grows
Covers:

Covers 1-3 are the same picture but the words are in different places. I like the 2nd one the best out of those three because the words aren’t covering the kid and it doesn’t have a random blurb of extra info.
Cover 4 is very similar to 1-3, but I don’t like it because it looks like the kid and the dogs aren’t together, it looks like two images photo-shopped together.
Cover 5 looks like an old timey mystery novel. It has been a while since I read this, but I don’t remember it being a mystery.
Cover 6, I really really really like the dogs, but I don’t like the lettering. It looks too childish.
Cover 7 looks old and Winnie the Pooh ish
Cover 8, I like the font but I don’t like the dogs. They look super weird.
Cover 9 looks the most modern and I like the silhouetted kid with the dogs.
Results:
Overall Cover 2 is my favorite:
However if you combined the picture from cover 6 and the words from cover 8 I think it would be my favorite
Which cover do you like best? Let me know in the comments! What book would you choose for this meme?
I like the version you’ve chosen too, the colors seem brighter an I can see a lot more detail.

My first choice would be the fifth – like you said, it has an old fashioned mystery type feel – shame it doesn’t really fit the content of the book though. Other than that I like your choice, the other similar covers are very dark.
